Located in Jiaxing, Jiaxing University is a public university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. With three campuses in Yuexiu, Lianglin and Pinghu separately, Jiaxing University covers an area of 1.2 square kilometers. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is over $70 million. The library has a collection of 2.15 million paper collections and 2.15 million electronic collections respectively. Jiaxing University has 17 teaching units, more than 15600 full-time students, and 7 affiliated hospitals, including 1 directly affiliated hospital.
Lu Jun, the president of Jiaxing University, is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief scientist of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. Professor Zhu Jingwu, honorary president of Jiaxing University, is a world-famous physicist and former president of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Jiaxing University has more than 1700 faculty and staff, including 3 full-time academicians, 6 part-time academicians, national special experts and so on.There are 2 provincial key innovation teams, 4 provincial teaching teams and 16 Jiaxing key science and technology innovation teams.
There are 57 undergraduate programs. Up to now, Jiaxing University has 2 national first-class undergraduate programs (Clinical Medicine and Accounting) and 11 provincial first-class undergraduate programs. It has 11 national and provincial experimental teaching platforms as well. Jiaxing University has been dedicated to promoting the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation. It has built more than 30 school-enterprise cooperation education platforms, such as Yat Mechanical and Electrical Institute and Alibaba Industry-University-Research Base. For four consecutive years, it has retained the first in the rankings of the classification and evaluation of similar ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities in Education Department of Zhejiang Province.
Jiaxing University has cooperated with more than 80 universities and institutions in over 20 countries or regions. It has established PhD Research Program with universities in Australia, DBDM( Dual Bachelor’s Master’s Program) with universities in Germany, and dual degree programs with universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan,South Korea and other countries. In the past five years, more than 1,500 Chinese students have been recommended to over 40 overseas universities for study and exchange. About 530 international students from 26 countries and regions have been enrolled in Jiaxing University. Jiaxing University has jointly carried out scientific research activities with experts from many countries, hosted the East Asia Economic and Cultural Forum, Starlit South Lake Summit and other international seminars, and organized China-Japan-Korea International Exchange Exhibition.
