Northeast Forestry University (NEFU) was founded in 1952, directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education, a member of “Project 211”, key construction university in the project of Innovation Platform for Prioritized Academic Disciplines and the Double First-class Construction University. NEFU is a multidisciplinary university with Forestry as its dominant discipline and Forestry Engineering as the characteristic. It has 2,300 faculty members. Presently, there are more than 26,000 students studying at NEFU, including 19,3399 undergraduate students and 7,273 graduate students. And 170,000 students have graduated since its founding. The main campus covers 136 hectares. NEFU is equipped with many teaching, research and internship bases, including Mao’er Mountain Experimental Forestry Farm(Mao’er Mountain National Forest Park) and Liangshui Experimental Forest Farm (Liangshui National Natural Reserve), covering a total area of 33,000 hectares. NEFU has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with more than 100 institutions of higher education in 30 countries, which include exchanges of students, faculty and research staff, joint academic conferences and scientific research collaboration. NEFU has been making great achievements and successfully educated thousands of excellent students from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Finland, Sweden, Australia, Russia, Argentina, Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Pakistan and other countries or regions.
